Driver Trades Places With Passenger, Both Get Arrested

On Saturday evening, Sedalia Police conducted a traffic stop in the area of East 13th Street and South Montgomery Avenue for improper and expired registration.

The original driver had jumped in the back seat and a passenger jumped into the driver's seat, gaining physical control and operation of the car.

The original driver, Earnest Brown, 40, of Sedalia, was arrested for Driving While Revoked and Failure to Comply With an Ignition Interlock Device.

The second driver, Leon Beamon Jr., 33, of Sedalia, was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and a $1,000 cash-only Pettis County Warrant.

The warrant was a Probation Violation filing on original charges of Property Damage in the 2nd Degree and Harassment in the 2nd Degree.
