DWI Suspect Tased After Resisting Arrest
On Saturday night at 11:37 p.m., Sedalia Police conducted a vehicle stop at 12th and Ingram for a moving violation.
During the stop, the odor of an intoxicant was noticed, in addition to other indicators of driver impairment. During a roadside investigation, the driver attempted to walk away from the stop. He then began to struggle with officers, resisting arrest. The suspect assaulted one of the officers during the struggle.
Pettis County Deputies were called for assistance, and the suspect was tased by a Deputy and subdued.
47-year-old Lucas Lones of Sedalia was then transported to the Sedalia Police Department, where a search warrant was obtained for a blood draw. Lones was then transported to the Pettis County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold.
Lones now faces charges of Driving While Intoxicated, 4th Degree Assault and Resisting Arrest.
