Oak Grove Man Killed in Jackson County Crash
An Oak Grove man died and three others were injured in a three-vehicle crash that occurred Saturday night in Jackson County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a southbound 1997 Chevy Silverado, driven by a 55-year-old man from Oak Grove, crossed the westbound lanes of US 50 at Route F, and traveled into the path of a westbound 2002 Chevy Silverado, driven by a 66-year-old man from Sedalia. The westbound Silverado struck the southbound Silverado.
After impact, the 1997 Silverado slid and struck a southbound 2019 Ford F-150, driven by a 67-year-old man from Sibley.
A passenger in the 1997 Silverado, an 85-year-old man from Oak Grove, was transported to Centerpoint Hospital by Lone Jack Fire. He was pronounced deceased at the hospital at 8:34 p.m., by Dr. Byerly.
The Sedalia man had minor injuries and refused medical treatment.
A 54-year-old passenger in the 1997 Silverado suffered serious injuries and was transported by JCAD to Centerpoint Hospital.
A 66-year-old female passenger in the 2002 Silverado suffered serious injuries and was transported to Centerpoint Hospital by Southern Jackson County Fire.
The Ford F-150 had minor damage, while the Silverados were totaled and towed by Ron’s Towing.
55-year-old Jeffrey D. Davis of Oak Grove was later arrested by the Patrol at 8:39 p.m. Davis now faces charges of Driving While Intoxicated Causing the Death of Another, and Careless and Imprudent Driving Resulting in a Crash.
Davis was taken to the Independence Police Department.
Lone Jack Police assisted the five Troopers on scene.
