A Slater man was injured in a one-vehicle crash that occurred Saturday evening in Saline County.

 

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a westbound 2013 Volkswagen Jetta, driven by a 21-year-old man from Slater, was on Highway 240, east of Primrose Avenue just after 7 p.m., when the driver failed to negotiate a curve and ran off the roadway. The VW then struck a utility pole and rolled, coming to rest on its wheels.

The man suffered serious injuries and was transported to University of Missouri Medical Center by Saline County EMS.

The Jetta was totaled.

21-year-old Griffin T. Moore was later arrested by the Patrol at 8:55 p.m. He now faces a charge of driving while intoxicated. Moore was released for medical treatment.
