Four people were injured Saturday afternoon when a car struck a tractor on Highway 65 in Pettis County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a southbound 2009 Toyota, driven by 34-year-old Devera F. Hougardy of Houstonia, struck the rear of a southbound 2005 John Deere tractor driven by 69-year-old Dale W. Shull of Sedalia. Both were traveling in the right lane of 65, just north of Hall Road.

The impact caused the tractor to turn over, coming to rest in the roadway, facing east. The Toyota also came to rest facing east in the roadway.

Hougardy, as well as her two passengers, a seven-year-old female and an 11-year-old female, all of Houstonia, and Shull (tractor driver) suffered minor injuries. All refused medical treatment at the scene, according to the report.

The John Deere had moderate damage, while the Toyota was totaled.
