Four SPD Officers Recognized By Safariland Group

On Friday, July 3rd, the Safariland Group inducted Officer Ty Barrett, Sergeant A. Casey DeVorss, Commander Adam Hendricks, and Officer Shania Fox into their SAVES club for an April 12, 2020, incident where these members of the Sedalia Police Department were fired upon by a person.

One of the rounds struck a protective ballistic shield – a product distributed by the Safariland Group. Safariland sent a representative to the Sedalia Police Department and presented each officer with a plaque and personalized gear.

Safariland now has 2,078 documented instances of their duty gear saving officers from death or serious physical injury.

"We appreciate Safariland for recognizing these individuals of the Sedalia Police Department for their bravery while in service to the Sedalia Community," the SPD said in a Facebook post.
