A head-on collision resulted in a double fatality on Tuesday night in Lawrence County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that an eastbound 1983 Ford F-250, driven by 32-year-old Wyatt Seelaus L. Cady of Ash Grove, was on Missouri 96, six miles west of Miller (between Springfield and Joplin in southwest Missouri) around 7:30 p.m., when the Ford traveled off the roadway and the driver overcorrected.

The Ford then struck a westbound 2013 Dodge Grand Caravan head on.

Cady was killed and pronounced deceased at 9:15 p.m., by Lawrence County Coroner Scott Lakin. Cady was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, according to the report.

The driver of the Dodge Caravan, 31-year-old Curtis M. Forrest of Republic, suffered serious injuries as did a three-year-old male passenger. They were both flown to Mercy Hospital in Springfield.

Another passenger in the Dodge, an infant girl, died in the crash and was pronounced dead at 9:15 p.m., by Lawrence County Coroner Scott Lakin.

The Dodge Caravan had extensive damage, while the Ford was totaled.
