Sedalia Police, Sedalia Fire and PCAD responded to a head-on collision that occurred Wednesday afternoon at US 65 Highway and Eagleview Drive around 4:40 p.m.

According to a Sedalia Police report, a southbound Ford minivan crossed the center line into the path of a northbound FedEx semi-truck. The two vehicles hit head-on in the northbound lane.

The wreck shut down Highway 65 for nearly two hours due to the large amount of diesel fuel leaking from the semi.

The driver of the Ford had severe injuries and was transported to MU-Columbia by PCAD, while the driver of the FedEx truck reported no injury. The accident is currently under investigation.

Later, a three-car collision occurred a couple of hours later in the northbound lane of Highway 65 at the bridge around 6:30 p.m.

According to a report, Ryan Arnold of Marshall, 32, driving a 2012 Accura TSX, was parked in traffic on northbound 65 due to the traffic backed up from the Eagleview Drive wreck. Another northbound vehicle, a 2016 Toyota driven by Tammy R. Knowles, 36, of Marshall, failed to stop and struck a northbound 2007 Chevy driven by Brandie R. Sale of Higginsville, which then struck the Accura.

Knowles and Sale suffered head injuries and were transported to Bothwell Regional Health Center for medical treatment.

The Toyota and Chevy were both towed from the scene.
