On Wednesday at approximately 10:05 p.m., the Sedalia Police Department was contacted via third party in reference to a female that was possibly being held against her will in the 1000 block of South Osage Avenue.

Officers responded to the residence and contact was made with John Hodges at the front door. John ran from the officers and was eventually subdued and arrested after a Taser was deployed.

At the time of his arrest, John had multiple active warrants. He had a parole violation warrant from the state of Michigan, as well as a Pettis County warrant charging him with sodomy, 2nd degree domestic assault and victim tampering.

In addition, John is being held pending charges of:
-Kidnapping
-Burglary
-Unlawful Use of a Weapon
-Armed Criminal Action
-Domestic Assault
-Tampering with a Victim
-Fugitive From Justice
-Resisting Arrest

The Sedalia Police Department said they are appreciative of the public’s efforts in circulating their Facebook post regarding Mr. Hodges. "We also would like to commend our night shift patrol officers for bringing a swift and safe resolution to what was a dangerous scenario," the statement read.
