On Monday evening, Sedalia Police attempted a traffic stop near the intersection of West 18th Street and South Grand Avenue for a license violation.

The vehicle failed to yield, leading to a short vehicle pursuit before the driver of the vehicle bailed on foot.

The driver was caught a short distance later after a foot pursuit.

While attempting to arrest the driver, he resisted arrest and bit the officer on the arm, causing an injury.

After the driver was taken into custody, he was identified and found to have several active warrants. Jon Alex Zaremba, 29, of Hughesville, was arrested on charges of 3rd Degree Assault, Possession of a Dangerous Drug, felony Resisting Arrest, Failure to Appear on original charges of Operating a Vehicle without Maintaining Financial Responsibility, and three active warrants for Unlawful Possession of an Illegal Weapon, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Tampering with a Motor Vehicle.
