A Huntsville woman was injured in a three-vehicle crash that occurred Wednesday afternoon in Boone County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a westbound 2013 Chevy Sonic, driven by 69-year-old Carol S. Malloy of Sturgeon, was stationary in the left lane of US 63 at Missouri 124, after being involved in a crash and disabled.

64-year-old pedestrian Brenda D. Smith of Huntsville, was standing on the driver's side of the Sonic checking on the passenger.

Two northbound vehicles were traveling on US 63, south of Missouri 124 East before 3 p.m. A 2008 Kenworth W900, driven by 45-year-old Jared D. Limback of Alma, swerved to avoid the Sonic, but ended up striking it. The Impact forced the Sonic into Smith.

The Kenworth then struck a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee, driven by 73-year-old Michael J. Reeves of Kirksville. The impact propelled the Jeep into the median.

Smith suffered serious injuries, and was transported by Boone County Ambulance to University Hospital for treatment.

The Sonic was totaled and towed from the scene. The Jeep had moderate damage, and was driven from the scene.

The Kenworth had minor damage.

There were a total of five Troopers on scene.
