
Independence Man Killed in Henry County Accident
An Independence man was killed in an accident that occurred early Monday morning in Henry County.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a 2015 Subaru Outback was parked on the shoulder of westbound Missouri 7, west of Missouri 13 North Junction just before 4 a.m., with the driver's side door open, when a westbound 2020 Volvo tractor trailer, driven by 58-year-old Edward F. Williams of Kansas City, struck the door of the Subaru. The Subaru then struck 49-year-old Raymond W. Conners of Independence, who was standing outside the car in the roadway.
Conners was pronounced dead at 3:57 a.m. by Henry County Coroner Dain Sisk.
Both vehicles had minor damage and were towed from the scene.
Clinton Police assisted the four Troopers on scene.
