A Kingsville man died in a Friday afternoon wreck that occurred in Johnson County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

24-year-old Jesse A. Murphy was the driver of a northbound 2002 Suzuki on County Road SW 1821, south of County Road SW 275, at 3:45 p.m. Friday when he collided head-on with a southbound 2002 Chevy S-10 driven by 20-year-old Damon Pemberton of Holden.

Murphy was pronounced dead at the scene by Johnson County Coroner Clark Holdren at 5:12 p.m. The body was taken to Williams Funeral Home in Holden.

Pemberton and his passenger in the S-10, 20-year-old Solomon C. Tevis of Holden, both suffered moderate injuries and were transported to Research Medical Center by JCAD.

Johnson County deputies assisted Patrolmen at the scene.
