Kirkwood Woman Killed in STL County Rollover

A Kirkwood woman was killed in a one-vehicle accident that occurred Wednesday night in St. Louis County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that an eastbound 2021 Ford Mustang Mach E, driven by 49-year-old Martha C. Wainwright of Kirkwood, was on West Adams, east of Ballas around 9 p.m., when Wainwright attempted to pass another vehicle and swerved to avoid an oncoming vehicle.

Wainwright lost control and traveled off the left side of the roadway. The front left of the Mustang struck a tree before returning to the roadway and overturning. Wainwright, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected from the vehicle. The Mustang then traveled off the right side of the roadway.

Wainwright was transported to Mercy Hospital in St. Louis, where she was pronounced deceased by Dr. Wilmas at 9:35 p.m.

The Mustang was totaled.
