A Leeton man was injured Monday morning after his truck ended up on its top after encountering an ice-covered roadway in Johnson County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that 52-year-old Elvis R. Ash of Leeton was the driver of a westbound 1984 GMC C-1500 on Missouri 2 Highway, one-half mile east of Missouri 13 at 9:52 a.m., when the vehicle traveled over an ice-covered portion of the roadway and slid off the south side of the highway. The vehicle rotated counterclockwise and overturned, coming to rest on its roof.

Ash, who was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the incident, suffered serious injuries, and was transported to Centerpoint Medical Center by JCAD for treatment.
