A Leeton man was injured in a two-vehicle crash that occurred in Johnson County late Tuesday night.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a southbound 1998 Ford, driven by 32-year-old Kevin J. Hontz of Leeton, was on Route D at SE 1000 Road when it experienced mechanical failure around 11:30 p.m. and was overtaken and struck by a southbound 2004 Pontiac, driven by 29-year-old Thomas A. Williams of Leeton.

Williams suffered serious injuries, and was transported by Windsor Fire to Western Missouri Medical Center for treatment. He was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

Hontz was reportedly not injured.

Both vehicles had extensive damage and were towed from the scene.

Pettis County Deputies assisted the Patrol.
