Leonard Man Killed in Polaris UTV Rollover in Shelby County
A Leonard man was killed in a UTV rollover that occurred last night in Shelby County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that 48-year-old Johnny H. Cook of Leonard, Mo., was operating a 2021 Polaris UTV on Route H, a couple miles south of Leonard in Shelby County (southeast of Kirksville) around 10 p.m. Thursday night, when the UTV traveled off the roadway and overturned.
Cook was pronounced deceased on scene at 11:49 p.m., by Shelby County Coroner Corey Eagan. The body was taken to Greening, Eagan and Hayes Funeral Home in Macon.
