Man Demands Food, Gets Ceramic Pot Instead

Sedalia Police arrested 54-year-old Jeffery L. Waters after responding to a disturbance in the 100 block of West Broadway around 6 p.m. Saturday.

According to a report, Waters allegedly walked onto the victim's porch and demanded food. When the victim refused, the suspect assaulted him. Another person tried to stop the fight and was also assaulted by the suspect..

One of the victims then struck the suspect in the head with a ceramic pot, causing a severe laceration. The suspect was taken to Bothwell Regional Health Center for medical treatment, then on to the Pettis County Jail on a 24-hour hold.

Waters was charged with 4th degree assault and 1st degree trespassing. He was also found to be in possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.
