A Marshall man was arrested for DWI after a one-vehicle crash that occurred Wednesday evening in Saline County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a southbound 2008 Dodge Ram, driven by 51-year-old Mark A. Smith, was on Route EE at 160th Road at 7:25 p.m., when the vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway. The driver overcorrected, the vehicle traveled back onto the road and began to skid. The Dodge then struck a ditch and overturned on the driver's side.

Smith was taken to University Hospital in Columbia for medical treatment. He was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, according to the report.

He was later arrested at 8:45 p.m. and charged with DWI (aggravated offender), driving while suspended or revoked, C&I driving resulting in an accident, and no seat belt.
