A Marshall woman was injured in a one-vehicle accident that occurred Wednesday evening in Cooper County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a westbound 1997 Ford Explorer, driven by 30-year-old Kristina M. Stevens of Marshall, was on Missouri 41, east of Chestnut Drive around 6 p.m., when the driver braked abruptly, causing the vehicle to skid off the right side of the roadway and overturn.

Stevens suffered moderate injuries and was transported to University of Missouri Hospital by Cooper County EMS.

The Ford was totaled and towed from the scene.
