Sedalia Fire, Sedalia Police, PCAD and KCP&L responded to 1522 East 5th Friday morning on a fire involving a two-story residence around 7:50 a.m.

All four occupants escaped the house safely. Also, there were two dogs, four cats and a parrot inside the home. All were safely removed.

No injuries were reported by the occupants or firefighters..

The residence sustained damage to approximately 75 percent of the structure. This included actual fire damage, smoke and water damage.

The area of origin was a bedroom, but no cause could be determined, according to Deputy Fire Chief Matt Irwin.

Three companies responded to the blaze.

The house is located west of 5th and New York.
