One Killed, One Injured in US 50 Crash in Johnson County
One man was killed and another one injured in a two-car crash that occurred Monday evening in Johnson County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a southbound 2005 Hyundai Elantra, driven by 75-year-old Dennis L. Miller of Kingsville, crossed the eastbound lanes of US 50 at County Road NW 1601 and into the path of an eastbound 2014 Ford F-250, driven by 49-year-old Jeffrey A. Davis of Knob Noster, at 6:27 p.m.
The Ford struck the Hyundai, causing the Hyundai to skid and travel off the roadway and strike a light pole and overturn. The Ford skidded and traveled off the roadway, striking a traffic sign.
Miller was pronounced dead at 7:56 p.m., by Johnson County Coroner Clark Holdren.
Davis suffered minor injuries and was transported to Western Missouri Medical Center for treatment.
Both vehicles were totaled.
Johnson County Deputies assisted the three Troopers on scene.
