One man was killed and two others injured in an ATV accident that occurred Sunday evening in Camden County.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a westbound 2021 Polaris RZR XP 4 1000, driven by 54-year-old Ronald T. Weems of Sunrise Beach, was traveling too fast for the conditions on Turn Bridge Lane, west of Grand Point Blvd., at 6:50 p.m., when the vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway and overturned, striking a tree.

51-year-old Neil Reams of Overland Park, Kan., was transported to Lake Regional Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 7:24 p.m. by Dr. Rodger Campbell.

Weems suffered serious injuries, and was flown by MU Air Care to University Hospital in Columbia for treatment.

48-year-old Beth D. Reams of Overland Park, Kan., suffered minor injuries and was transported by Lake West EMS to Lake Regional Hospital.

The Polaris was totaled.

Sunrise Beach Fire assisted the four Troopers on scene.

Weems was later arrested by the Patrol at 8:46 p.m., and charged with driving while intoxicated resulting in the death of another, involuntary manslaughter, and operating a motor vehicle in a careless and imprudent manner involving a crash.
