One Man Arrested in Morgan County on Child Porn Charges

A 34-year old man from Gravois Mills was recently arrested by Morgan County authorities on child pornography charges.

The Morgan County Sheriff's Department says on September 17, deputies arrested 34-year old Michael Sparks as part of an ongoing investigation into child pornography.

The Morgan County Sheriff's Office received information from ICAC (Internet Crimes Against Children), in reference to an uploaded video to Instagram which reportedly depicted child pornography. An IP address was provided that listed Gravois Mills as the area the video was uploaded from.

Investigative subpoenas served on Google and Co-MO Connect, determined that the physical address the video was uploaded from was located at 28396 Black Oak Lane in Gravois Mills, MO, the residence of Michael Sparks.

A search warrant was served, where authorities reportedly multiple computers, tablets and hard drives. An initial search of a tablet revealed no less than 4000 images and videos depicting child pornography, involving sexual acts with adult males and juvenile females between the ages of 1 - 14 years old.

Sparks was arrested and charged with multiple counts of Possession of Child Pornography. He is in the Morgan County Jail, with no bond.

The investigation is ongoing.
