One Man Shot on West Ninth Street in Sedalia

On Friday afternoon around 1:30, Sedalia Police were called to 1617 West Ninth on a report of gun shots.

Dispatch was quickly notified that the subject who was shot was driven away from the residence.

The victim, Shawn Mantonya, who lived at the residence, was taken by private vehicle to Bothwell Regional Health Center for treatment.

He was listed in stable condition, according to the SPD.

All of the parties involved in the incident have been identified, but the circumstances leading up to the shooting are still under investigation, said Sedalia Police Chief Matt Wirt.

A Pettis County deputy assisted the SPD at the scene. Sedalia Fire and PCAD were also on standby throughout the incident.
