Pedestrian Struck and Killed in Clay County
A pedestrian was struck and killed in Clay County Wednesday morning, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
76-year-old George A. Weaver of Kearney was walking in the roadway on Highway 69, just south of Vintage Road shortly after 7 a.m., when he was struck by a southbound 2013 Dodge Avenger driven by 43-year-old Tommy W. Brewer of Excelsior Springs.
Weaver was pronounced dead at the scene by Excelsior Springs Officer Rider at 7:18 a.m. The body was taken to Frontier Medical Office.
Brewer was not injured, according to the report. There was minor damage to the Avenger.
