The following Pettis County Sheriff's crime reports and Missouri State Highway Patrol accident reports are from the afternoon of Feb. 3, 2014.

Pettis County Sheriff’s Crime Reports

Just after 4 p.m. Sunday afternoon, Pettis County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested James Curd of Kansas City on an active warrant.

At 10:24 this morning, the Pettis County Sheriff’s Office received a complaint from a Pettis County Woman reporting that her EBT card had been stolen from her purse on Jan. 30. There was no information on possible suspects.

Around 9:50 this morning, a male victim reported the theft of a vehicle that occurred overnight. The Pettis County Sheriff’s report states the vehicle was taken from the side of Highway “H”. There are no suspects at news time.

Missouri State Highway Patrol Accident Reports

At 1:24 this morning, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a one-vehicle injury accident on Route “Y” just east of Southeast 251 Road in Johnson County. The accident reportedly occurred as the driver of a 2001 Ford Explorer, 50-year-old Leonard Stillwell of Warrensburg, lost control of his vehicle on the ice covered roadway, travelled off the road and overturned. A passenger in the Stillwell vehicle, 54-year-old Johnny Cowherd of Warrensburg, was not wearing a seat belt and suffered moderate injuries. Cowherd was transported to Western Missouri Medical Center by EMS for treatment.

Just after 3 p.m. on Sunday afternoon, a 2012 Peterbuilt driven by 21-year-old David Muncries of Modesto, California traveled off of I-70 at Mile Marker 83, went through the median barrier and into oncoming traffic where it struck a cliff face. A 1997 Mercury driven by 55-year-old Keith Austin of Columbia traveled off the roadway into a ravine to avoid the Peterbuilt and struck a culvert. Muncries received minor injuries and was taken to Fitzgibbon Hospital by Saline County EMS for treatment.

Just before 5 p.m. Sunday afternoon, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a one-vehicle Accident on Route “F” at County Road Southwest 800 in Johnson County.  The accident happened when the 2006 Ford driven by 20-year-old Grace Brandon of Ferguson traveled off the roadway and struck a ditch. The vehicle then overturned, struck a utility pole and came to rest on the driver’s side. Brandon received minor injuries, and was taken to Lee’s Summitt Medical Center by Johnson County Ambulance for treatment.
