Rollover Crash at Owens Corning Injures Sedalia Man
On Wednesday morning, Sedalia Police responded to a rollover accident that occurred at 9:10 a.m., at Owens Corning, 2700 W. 16th Street.
According to the SPD's report, 61-year-old Thomas Jacob Stumbaugh of Sedalia, was the driver of a westbound 2016 Nissan Versa that traveled off the right side of the roadway and struck the Owens Corning building (across from the fairgrounds).
The impact caused the Nissan to rotate clockwise and overturn, coming to rest on its top.
The Nissan sustained heavy damage in the collision and the front airbag was deployed. The driver's seatbelt was locked in the unused position, according to the report.
Stumbaugh suffered serious injuries, and was transported by PCAD to Bothwell Regional Health Center for treatment.
A dog that was also in the vehicle suffered minor injury, but was overall okay.
Police said Stumbaugh was very confused on scene and did not remember the events leading to the collision. It is believed that he may have suffered a medical episode just prior to the crash.
The report also said there was damage to the south side of the Owens Corning Building.
