Russellville Man Dies in Camden County Accident

A Russellville man died in a two-vehicle accident that occurred Thursday morning in Camden County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a northbound 2009 Chevy Express, driven by 59-year-old David W. Matheis of Russellville, was on Missouri 5, just a few hundred feet before Concrete Drive at 11:40 a.m., when he crossed the center line and sideswiped a southbound 2019 Honda Ridgeline, driven by Timothy L. Bowerman of Overland Park, Kansas. The Chevy ran off the right side of the road, traveled down an embankment, and collided with several small trees and the ground.

Matheis was transported to Lake Regional Hospital, where he was pronounced dead by Dr. Todd Cooper at 12:38 p.m.

The Honda had extensive damage, while the Chevy was totaled.

Mid-Mo Fire and Lake West Ambulance assisted the four Troopers on scene.
