S-C Freshmen Raise Money for Local Firefighters
Smith-Cotton High School Freshmen Academy students raised over $1,000 for the Sedalia Firefighters Memorial.
The money was raised during the class's annual 'day of service.' The money was presented to Sedalia Firefighters on November 1 at the high school. The total amount of money donated was $1,100.
A press release from Sedalia 200 says on the 'day of service,' the students participated in a walk-a-thon at Tiger Stadium, had a scavenger hunt, went through a firefighter obstacle course, and met firefighters and learned about their jobs.
