The Sacred Heart Gremlins defeated Northwest in two sets Thursday night at Hughesville.

The Gremlins and Mustangs went point for point at the beginning of the first set bringing the set to 9-8 with the Mustangs leading. Thanks to an early sideout from the Gremlins, they were able to tie the score and go on a seven-point run, allowing the Gremlins to take a 9-15 lead.

The set finished off 25-16 with the Gremlins taking the win. In the second set, the Gremlins caught an early 6-0 lead.

The Gremlins were able to keep the momentum for the duration of the second set. The final score of the second set was 25-9 with the Gremlins taking the game.

Madison McClain finished the match with 19 kills, 5 assists, 3 digs, and 4 blocks. Kiley Beykirch had 14 assists, 2 aces, and 7 digs. Zoe Volcko had 6 kills and 2 blocks.

Sacred Heart JV won both their sets against Northwest, 25-13 and 21-25.

Sacred Heart (8-10-1) go up against the Cole Camp Bluebirds (13-1-1) Tuesday night at home.
