Sacred Heart (6-4) traveled to Lone Jack (5-5) in a rematch of the first game of the season for both squads.

Playing on Lone Jack's Homecoming Night, Lone Jack played an inspired first half, threatening repeatedly in the first twenty minutes. Sacred Heart struggled to adjust to the playing surface and could not maintain the possession that was so effective in the first game of the year.

Momentum began to shift at the beginning of the second half after a tactical switch with Lucas Martin moving to center back and Juan Pablo Suarez playing center mid-field. The combination of Lucas Martin, Jude Rollings, Jaysen Gerke, and John Ulbrich shut down the Lone Jack attack in the second half.

Suarez and Ian Viscarra began to control possession in the second half and the Gremlins were finally able to exert their style of play on the game.

The Gremlins came very close to ending it in regulation as Juan Fernandez beat two players on the goal line and played a beautiful pass across the goal. Hunter Deresinki crashed the goal and just missed the game winner.

The Gremlins wasted no time in the first overtime though, as Sophomore Ian Viscarra played a perfect ball behind the Lone Jack defense to Freshman Osvaldo Garcia. Garcia took one touch to his right and fired the ball into the corner of the net for the winner. Dallin Chappell recorded his third shutout in a row for the win in goal.

Sacred Heart plays Pleasant Hill (3-5)Saturday morning at 10.
