The Sacred Heart soccer team beat tournament hosts Barstow 4-1 Thursday night to advance to the championship game Saturday, Sept. 4 at 1:30 pm.

Senior Bruno Saucedo scored his first goal with an assist from senior Ian Viscara within the first 3 minutes of the game. The score was 1-0 at halftime.

The Gremlins had renewed energy in the second half of the game. Eleven minutes in, senior Bruno Saucedo scored his second goal to give the Gremlins a 2-0 lead. Five minutes later, senior Ian Viscara scored a goal with an assist from Bruno. 3-0 Gremlins.

To keep the momentum going, senior goalkeeper Alex Karigan blocked a PK and within 30 seconds Bruno scored again to make the score 4-0.

The Knights only goal came with 14 minutes left in the game.

The Gremlins will face Platte County in the championship game tomorrow.
