A school crossing guard and a Skyline Elementary student were hit by a Cadillac Friday afternoon, causing minor injuries.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, an eastound 2005 Cadillac Deville, driven by 35-year-old Martez J. Troy of Sedalia, failed to stop at a crosswalk at 32nd and Skyline Drive around 3:35 p.m., and struck 67-year-old Vicki S. Mewes of Sedalia, and a 10-year-old male juvenile.

The driver of the Cadillac then fled the area.

The 10-year-old sought his own treatment, according to the report, while Mewes was transported to Bothwell Regional Health Center. Both had minor injuries. Mewes reportedly suffered a broken right leg.

Sedalia Police later located the vehicle in the 200 block of South Massachusetts and made contact with the driver.

Troy was arrested around 5 p.m., taken to the Pettis County Jail and charged with felony DWI with aggravated physical injury, felony leaving the scene of an accident with physical injury, felony introduction of a controlled substance into a jail facility, and driving while revoked.
