Two people were arrested for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia on April 6 after Sedalia Police responded to a burglary report in the 500 block of E. 11th. After clearing the house, officers found several containers of marijuana in plain view. After an investigation, 36-year-old Cary J. Howerton, Jr., and 28-year-old Frankie E. Ray, were released with a court summons at the scene.


 

The Missouri State Highway Patrol arrested 31-year-old Timothy R. Barrett of Sedalia at 1:48 a.m. Tuesday in Benton County. He was charged with felony possession of a controlled substance (meth) and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia, and a registration violation. Barrett was taken to the Benton County Jail, where he was booked and released.


 

Sedalia Police took a theft report that occurred at Bud's Laundromat, 301 S. Engineer, on Sunday afternoon. According to the report, the victim laid his wallet on the counter and another man, Steven Wayne Bailey, 37, removed it and took it to the victim's residence, but allegedly with $220 missing. Video evidence led officers to the suspect, and he admitted stealing the cash. Bailey was arrested and taken to the Pettis County Jail, where he was booked and released.


 

Sedalia Police conducted a traffic stop Saturday afternoon at 12th and Ohio on a Chevy truck with no registration. A computer check of the driver, 50-year-old William C. Mulcrone, revealed he was driving while suspended. He was booked and released with a May 8 court date.
