Sedalia Police officers responded to a vehicle accident in the area of Broadway and Harding Avenue around 5:30 Tuesday evening (Jan 31). The caller stated that a vehicle had rolled over. The driver had struck a light pole, a stop sign, and two parked vehicles. During the investigation, the driver was discovered to be intoxicated. The driver, 58-year-old Charles L. Price, of Westbrook, CT, was arrested and taken to the hospital for medical treatment. Price was then taken to the Pettis County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold, pending state charges of DWI.


On Tuesday (Jan 31), Pettis County Sheriff's deputies assisted the Johnson County Sheriff's office with a vehicle pursuit, in the area of US-50 and MM Highway. As a result, David Dean Carr II was arrested for a number of offences including, Resisting Arrest by Fleeing, Driving while Intoxicated, Driving while Suspended, Careless and Imprudent Driving, and additional traffic violations. Carr was taken to the Pettis County Jail.


On Wednesday (Feb 1) Pettis County deputies arrested Eric Monsees for an active warrant.


On Wednesday (Feb 1), Sedalia Police officers took a report of a stolen handgun in the 1500 block of South Moniteau Avenue. The theft allegedly occurred during the previous day. The value of the handgun was placed at $400. The investigation is ongoing. There were no further details listed in that report.
