Sedalia Police conducted a traffic stop on an SUV for failing to maintain its lane at East Broadway and Sellers Road on Wednesday night at 9:17 p.m.

Investigation revealed that the driver, 64-year-old Burl A. Brown, of Sedalia, was intoxicated by drugs.

According to the report, Brown still had methamphetamine caked to his nose during the traffic stop.

Brown was arrested, and while still in the patrol car, attempted to swallow drugs and dropped it and another substance in the seat.

He was taken to Bothwell Regional Health Center, and then on to the Pettis County Jail, where he was booked on a 24-hour hold, pending the filing of state charges for Felony DWI (persistent offender) and two counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance.
