Sedalia Man Arrested & Charged With Felony Child Abuse & Neglect
On the afternoon of Dec. 11, Sedalia Police made an arrest in a child abuse case. Officers had been working on the child abuse case from Nov. 22.
A less than one-month-old male (at the time) had been taken to Bothwell Regional Health Center and was later transferred to University Hospital with significant injuries. The child had a fractured left femur, bilateral rib fractures at various stages of healing, a fractured left clavicle, a healing fractured tibia, and a right front acute subdural hematoma.
After several interviews with the family and witnesses, the suspect was arrested at his workplace in the 3900 block of South Limit Avenue.
Ezekiel Paul Ellsworth, 26, of Sedalia, was arrested on a charge of felony Child Abuse/Neglect (Serious Physical Injury), and Endangering the Welfare of a Child in the 1st Degree.
Ellsworth was booked in at the Pettis County Jail, pending a $50,000 cash or surety bond, with a stipulation to have no contact of any kind with the victim.
