On Tuesday night, Sedalia Police responded to the 2700 block of South Massachusetts on a disturbance.

Upon arrival, officers made contact with the reporting person in the driveway of the residence, who said she had been assaulted by her husband. Officers noticed a laceration above her left eye.

Officers then asked if the victim needed an ambulance, but she stated she did not need one, and her father volunteered to take her to the hospital.

The suspect had left the scene. While checking the area, officers made contact with the suspect, Jeremy Lee Maupin, 43, of Sedalia.

He was taken into custody and charged with Domestic Assault. A computer check revealed Maupin was wanted on two warrants.

The first warrant was out of Pettis County for felony Failure to Appear with a $1,000 bond.

The second warrant was out of Buchanan County for Probation Violation. Maupin was taken to the Pettis County Jail.
