Sedalia Man Killed in Head-on Collision in Pettis County
A Sedalia man was killed in a two-vehicle crash that occurred Thursday morning in Pettis County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a westbound 1999 Nisssan Frontier and an eastbound 2007 Nissan Murano crossed the center line and collided head-on at 7:30 a.m. on Main Street Road, west of Quisenberry Road.
77-year-old Mikhail K. Zalozh of Sedalia was killed in the crash. He was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the incident, according to the report. Zalozh was pronounced dead at 7:41 a.m. by Pettis County Deputy Coroner Brian Morley. The body was taken to Heckart Funeral Home.
22-year-old Mathew G. Curry of Columbia, the driver of the Murano, suffered minor injuries and was transported to Bothwell Regional Health Center by private vehicle. He was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
Both vehicles were totaled and towed from the scene by Don's Truck Towing.
Pettis County Deputies and PCAD assisted the Patrol at the scene.
