Sedalia man arrested on a Johnson County Warrant Wednesday night

Just before 11:00 Wednesday night, Sedalia police stopped a vehicle in the 2100 block of South Ingram for defective license plate lights. Upon contact with the occupants of the vehicle, a passenger identified as 36-year-old Jason Balance of Sedalia was found to have an active Johnson County warrant for forgery. At the time of the police report, he was being held in the Pettis County Jail pending a $4500 bond.

Traffic stop on Wednesday night results in drug related charges for a Sedalia man

At 7:34 Wednesday night, Sedalia police stopped a vehicle at 14th and Lamine for expired registration. A subsequent search of the driver and a passenger revealed the passenger, 45-year-old Bennie Montgomery, was in possession of a methamphetamine pipe with some methamphetamine residue. Montgomery was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail where he was placed on 24-hour hold pending formal charges.

30-year-old Sedalia man arrested for driving while revoked

At 10:26 Wednesday night Sedalia police arrested 30-year-old Michael Baez of Sedalia during a traffic stop at 9th and Marvin for driving while revoked. Baez was taken to the Pettis County Jail where he was booked and released pending the filing of formal charges.

Reports from the Pettis County Sheriff’s Department

On Wednesday, a man and his son reported they were victims of an attempted robbery that took place in the Sunset Trailer Park located at 4200 West Main. There was no information on a suspect in the report.

Around 4:30 on Wednesday afternoon, a Pettis County Sheriff’s Deputy investigated a non-injury accident on Lamms Lane in Pettis County. According to the reporting party, a vehicle struck the bridge and a male subject fled the scene on foot. The vehicle involved was a red Ford Thunderbird with a temporary tag that had to be towed from the scene when the driver could not be located.
