Sedalia man arrested this morning for driving while suspended

At 7:45 this morning (May 13), the Sedalia police stopped a vehicle in the 600 block of West Cooper with a driver known to be suspended. Upon confirmation, officers arrested 27-year-old Jonathon Johnson of Sedalia and transported him to the Pettis County Jail.  Johnson was on 24-hour hold in the Pettis County jail pending state charges at the time of the police report

Thieves steal an air conditioning unit from a deceased person’s home

Last week, a female complainant filed a theft report with the Sedalia Police Department. According to the complainant, thieves stole a large air conditioning unit valued at $6000 from behind a building in the 500 block of West 16th. The woman said the property belonged to her deceased father and was part of his estate. There were no suspects at news time.

Thieves targets a vehicle on State Fair Blvd.

Just before 7:00 this morning, Sedalia police took a theft complaint from a victim in the 1000 block of State Fair Blvd. According to the victim, someone entered his vehicle that was parked behind an Apartment Complex sometime overnight and stole a Kenwood Stereo valued at $500, a toolbox with tools valued at $400 and two flash drives. There were no suspects at the time of the police report.

Hit-and-run accident reported Friday evening on State Fair Blvd.

Around 5:30 Friday evening, a Springfield woman reported a hit-and-run accident in the 600 block of State Fair Blvd. The victim told the Sedalia police a vehicle struck her vehicle as it sat in front of her residence and the driver did not stop to provide information. The police report states the suspect had not been located at the time of the police report.

Female victim files a theft and property damage complaint Sunday evening

At 6:30 Sunday evening, Sedalia police took a theft and property damage complaint from a female subject. According to the woman, a male subject had damaged her vehicle, stole her cell phone and damaged the phone. The police report states they spoke to the male subject and he denied the allegations by the woman. The incident was being investigated at the time of the police report.

Thieves target a rental property on South Ingram

This morning, a rental property owner reported a refrigerator and stove were stolen from his property in the 3800 Block of South Ingram. There is no suspect at news time and the thefts are currently being investigated.

Texas man reports his identity stolen in Sedalia area

The Pettis County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a case of identity theft involving a victim from Fort Worth, Tx. According to the victim, his identity has been used for employment in the Sedalia/Pettis County area. The Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating the case.
