The following Sedalia Police and Pettis County Sheriff's crime reports are from the morning of Tuesday, April 15, 2014.

Pettis County Deputies Investigate Illegal Burning

Pettis County Deputies investigated a possible illegal burning that happened in the 22000 Block of Yeater Road on Sunday morning (April 13). Pettis County Deputies found three very large piles that were burning. The three large piles were spread apart and appeared to have been burning throughout the night, and all three piles were still burning. Pettis County Deputies saw old house building materials, along with tires, mattresses, dry wall, carpet and many other materials burning. There was also an explosion that might have been related to paint materials. The Pettis County Fire Department put out the fire. The matter was referred to the Missouri Department of Natural Resources.

Sedalia Police Investigate A Hit-and-Run Accident

Sedalia Police went to Rush Hour at1320 South Limit in reference to a hit-and-run accident. A woman said she was driving south on Highway 65 when a vehicle entered her path of travel out of a private parking lot and collided into the car. The other driver left without providing information. The woman's vehicle had moderate damage to the front driver side bumper, headlight, hood and fender.

Several Reports of Property Damage and Thefts Investigated

A woman reported to Pettis County Deputies that someone flattened her tire to her vehicle in the 24000 Block of Oak Grove Lane sometime in the overnight yesterday (April 14),.

A man in the 3500 Block of Kentucky Street reported to Pettis County Deputies that $300 in items were taken from the residence between April 12 and 14.

Pettis County Deputies received a report that a license plate was stolen or missing in the 200 Block of Green Street in Smithton between April 11 and 13.

Several Arrests Made

Sedalia Police arrested Amanda Arnold for failure to appear, bond set at $925.

Sedalia Police arrested Dylan Avery for failure to appear out of Henry County. bond set at $368 cash/surety. Sedalia Police applied additional charges to Avery for possession of synthetic narcotics, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving while suspended, no proof of insurance and failure to register annually with the Department of Revenue.

Sedalia Police arrested Pamela Bahner for stealing from Walgreen's, bond set at $535.

Sedalia Police arrested Matthew Oldham for stealing eight candy bars from Wood's.

Sedalia Police arrested Mark Dean for driving while suspended.

Pettis County Deputies arrested Carla Stephens for an active warrant fo her arrest.

Pettis County Deputies arrested Matthew Wiley of Knob Noster for an active warrant for his arrest.
