The following Sedalia Police and Pettis County Sheriff's crime reports are from the morning of Monday, Jan. 20, 2014.

Sedalia Police Apprehend Two Suspects After a Pursuit

Saturday evening (Jan. 18), Sedalia Police tried stopping a vehicle with defective plate lights. The vehicle did not yield and a pursuit ensued southbound on South Lamine from East 3rd through East 14th. The vehicle struck a tree and the driver fled on foot. The driver, Joseph Pruitt, was found behind a house in the 100 Block of East 14th. Pruitt was arrested for operating a vehicle without an operable license/tail lamps, careless driving, failure to yield to emergency vehicle, driving while suspended, resisting arrest and property damage in the 2nd. In addition, a passenger, Summer Teeter was arrested for having a warrant, bond set at $4,500 cash/surety.

Two Cases of Harassment Investigated

Saturday afternoon (Jan. 18), Sedalia Police received a report of an assault. A man reported to Sedalia Police that his roommate pulled a knife on him, but he was not injured. Another roommate reported to Sedalia Police a weapon was pointed at his head.

Pettis County Deputies received a report of a woman receiving harassing text messages from someone she knows.

Several Thefts Reported

Pettis County Deputies received a report that a central air conditioner was stolen from a trailer in the 4500 Block of Forest Park Road, between Jan. 15 and 17.

Employees of Walmart reported to Sedalia Police that three suspects stole merchandise from the store on Friday morning (Jan. 17). The suspects fled the store in a gold SUV. Walmart was able to recover $27 in items that were dropped by the suspects when they fled.

Employees of Break Time at 2801 West Broadway reported to Sedalia Police a $38.98 gas drive-off occurred last night (Jan. 19).

A woman in the 1600 Block of West Broadway reported to Sedalia Police that someone broke in and stole $40 in change and a cell phone valued at $100 yesterday (Jan. 19). Sedalia Police also found a window was broken on the house.

Pettis County Deputies responded to 19000 Block of 3rd Road in reference to animal neglect of a brown boxer on Jan. 18.

Several Arrests Made Over the Weekend

Sedalia Police arrested Ashley Marquess for felony warrant out of Johnson County, bond set at $25,000 cash.

Sedalia Police arrested Tanya Brandkamp for having a Saline County warrant, bond set at $7,500 cash/surety.

Pettis County Deputies arrested Kyle Wissman for careless and imprudent driving and running three stop signs, bond set at $1,000 cash/surety.

Sedalia Police arrested Jeremy Lewis for a public peace disturbance, bond set at $283.

Sedalia Police arrested Denise Reynolds for failure to appear, bond set at $250 cash/surety.

Sedalia Police arrested Cody Paxton for failure to appear, bond set at $88.50 cash.

Pettis County Deputies arrested Richard Beaulieu on two active Pettis County warrants for his arrest.

Sedalia Police arrested Sheli Church for driving while suspended.

Sedalia Police arrested Andrew Dean for domestic assault in the 3rd.
