The following Sedalia Police and Pettis County Sheriff's reports are from the morning of Monday, July 1, 2013.

Pettis County Deputies Respond to Assaults

Pettis County Deputies were dispatched to a large fight in the 21000 Block of Highway 135 in Smithton yesterday morning (June 30). Assault and property damage were reported but no arrests have been made as of this time.

Saturday (June 29) Pettis County Deputies took a report of an assault in the 21000 Block of West Highway 50.

Sedalia Police and Pettis County Deputies Respond to Many Thefts Over The Weekend

Phillips Auto at 4207 South Limit reported to Sedalia Police that at least ten car batteries were stolen from vehicles at the business between 8 p.m. on June 27 and 8 a.m. on June 28.

Pettis County Deputies received a report from a man in the 10000 Block of Highway NN in Houstonia that several gas powered and electrical tools valued at $1400 were stolen from a storage bin between June 25 and 29.

Pettis County Deputies received a report from a man on Glead Road in Hughesville that some farm equipment parts valued at $900 were stolen from one of his storage buildings on June 28 or 29.

A woman in the 900 Block of East 13th reported to Sedalia Police that someone stole her vehicle, a red 1991 Mercury Grand Marquis, from in front of her home on June 29 between 12:30 and 7:30 a.m.

A man in the 400 Block of East Saline reported to Sedalia Police that someone stole a JVC AM/FM CD player stereo valued at $75 from his car on the morning of June 29.

A man in the 1700 Block of East 7th, reported to Sedalia Police that someone stole a bicycle seat valued at $25 off his bike between 5 p.m. on June 8 and noon on June 10.

A victim reported to Pettis County Deputies that someone stole four wheels and tires, four cases of ammo and six boxes of ammo from a home in the 4100 Block of South Kentucky between June 25 and 28.

A woman in the 1400 Block of Elm Hills Boulevard reported to Pettis County Deputies that two laptop computers and gaming systems were stolen from her home on June 29.

A man in the 4200 Block of West Main reported to Pettis County Deputies that someone stole his cell phone from his car between June 28 and 30.

A man in the 1600 Block of East 13th reported to Sedalia Police that someone got into his vehicles and stole a Garmin C340 GPS.

Pettis County Deputies received a report from a man in the 4200 Block of West Main that someone stole his wallet, cash, ID and debit card from his car on either June 29 or 30.

A man in the 400 Block of East Saline reported to Sedalia Police that someone stole a partial book of personal checks and a black and orange Armour All bag from his vehicle. The bag was later located in a neighbor's car.

A man in the 700 Block of Southwood Drive reported to Pettis County Deputies that someone forcefully entered his property and damaged some items between June 14 and 28.

A woman in the 1300 Block of South Kentucky reported to Sedalia Police that her front license plate was stolen.

A woman in the 200 Block of North Harding reported to Pettis County Deputies that someone entered her pickup truck and ransacked it on June 29 or 30.

A woman in the 200 Block of South Grand reported a prowler. The woman's kids saw a light in their backyard around 2 a.m. on June 29. The woman investigated and found someone did damage to a window screen on a detached garage.

A man reported to Sedalia Police that someone damaged his vehicle, while it was parked in the gravel lot at Katy Trail Community Health Center on June 27.

A woman in the 1500 Block of East 4th reported to Sedalia Police that she has been receiving harassing phone calls from somebody she knows. Sedalia Police also received two other reports of harassment involving the same suspect.

Pettis County Deputies Recover Property

Pettis County Deputies towed an abandoned vehicle from a driveway in the 10000 Block of West Highway 50 in Lamonte.

Pettis County Deputies recovered a black Mongoose bike in the 300 Block of Cover Bridge Road.

Pettis County Deputies took possession of a purse that was found on the side of the road on Highway 50 on June 30.

Several Arrests Made

Sedalia Police arrested Gary Barnett for driving while revoked and a Knob Noster warrant, bond set at $500 cash/surety.

Sedalia Police arrested Elizabeth Esqueda for failure to appear, bond set at $88.50 cash.

Sedalia Police arrested Shawn Spellmeyer for domestic assault in the 3rd and trespassing in the 1st.

Sedalia Police arrested Shane Morgan for driving while suspended.
