Sedalia Police Assist With Road Cleanup

Sedalia Police released a follow-up to the accident that happened on East Broadway and South Ohio yesterday (June 12) morning at 6:30. A Woody Bolger Trucking Company truck lost its tarp and lost part of its load on Highway 50 at Ohio. The load consisted of “wet feed/Distiller's Corn” and when it fell on the street, it covered both westbound lanes and the turn lane, and caused vehicles to slide around. The Missouri Highway Department was called to aid in cleaning up the mess. Traffic was rerouted for a period of 3 ½ hours, while the Highway Department used a backhoe/front loader, front loader and several personnel to clean up the spill. The Sedalia Fire Department was called to wash the remainder of the debris down the storm drain after the Water Pollution Control authorized the wash down and ordered his Department to take a sample of water. The roads were back open again at 10 a.m.

A Missing Child Is Brought to Sedalia Police

On Tuesday morning (June 11), someone found a child unattended on Broadway Boulevard and brought the child to the Sedalia Police Department lobby. Sedalia Police were able to find the child's family and was turned over to the family without charges.

Three Kittens Stolen

A woman in the 600 Block of West 6th reported to Sedalia Police that three kittens were stolen from the home between 10 p.m. on June 11 and 8:30 a.m. on June 12.

Sedalia Police Find Drugs

Sedalia Police made a vehicle stop in the 400 Block of East 5th and found a passenger had a felony warrant. Sedalia Police searched the vehicle and found a meth pipe and marijuana in the vehicle. Sedalia Police arrested Kristopher Paxton for possession of a controlled substance, Cody Hall for possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia and Amanda Martz for a Pettis County warrant, bond set at $5,000.

Several Arrests Made

Sedalia Police arrested Joseph Luera for a probation violation for stealing, bond set at $5,000 cash/surety.

Sedalia Police arrested Jared Monsees for a probation violation and being a fugitive from justice.
