The following Sedalia Police and Pettis County Sheriff's crime reports are from the morning of Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2013.

Sedalia Police Apprehend Suspect After A Short Foot Chase

Yesterday afternoon (Nov. 4), Sedalia Police went to the area of 5th and Missouri Avenue to assist another officer that was searching for a male subject that fled on foot during an investigation. Sedalia Police found the man hiding in abandoned home in the 600 Block of West 4th. Sedalia Police arrested Carlos Staten for a Pettis County warrant, bond set at $2500 and another charge of resisting arrest was applied.

Several Thefts Reported

Employees of Gamestop at 3400 West Broadway reported to Sedalia Police that someone stole $900 in games from the business in the last month.

Employees of Long John Silvers at 922 South Limit reported to Sedalia Police that someone damaged a window at the business between 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 3 and 3 p.m. on Nov. 4. The window appeared to have a small hole in it, possibly caused by a BB Gun.

Employees of Jiffy Stop at 1722 West Broadway reported to Sedalia Police that there was a $24.65 gas drive off.

Pettis County Deputies received a report from a victim that a 1993 GMC truck was stolen in the 6000 Block of Bluejay Boulevard in Smithton yesterday.

A woman in the 900 Block of Winchester reported to Sedalia Police that someone broke into her car and stole a wallet, $480 cash and various cards between 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 3 and 6:45 a.m. on Nov. 4.

Two Cases of Property Damage and an Accident Investigated

Pettis County Deputies received a report of property damage that happened in the 1900 Block of East 28th Street.

A woman in the 600 Block of East 10th reported to Sedalia Police that someone damaged her car in a hit-and-run accident on Nov. 4 between 8:20 and 8:40 a.m.

Early this morning (Nov. 5), Sedalia Police went to the 3700 Block of West Broadway as a deer hit a vehicle. The owner didn't want to report the vehicle damage, but the deer was alive and suffering. Sedalia Police destroyed the deer.
