A Sedalia man was arrested around 10:40 p.m. on November 21 as the result of a sexual assault investigation. A report from the Sedalia Police Department says 32-year-old Raul Bartolome Jaquez-Garcia was arrested on charges including child molestation and furnishing pornography to minors. He was placed on a 24-hour hold at the Pettis County Jail, pending state charges.


Sedalia Police say two people were arrested following a traffic stop around 8:30 p.m. on November 21 near E. 13th St. and S. Washington Ave. Police say the driver and a passenger were in possession of methamphetamine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia. 26-year-old Jalane Lea Brake of Tipton and 44-year-old John Phillip Williams of Sedalia were both arrested and transported to the Pettis Co. Jail.


Just before 4 a.m. on November 21, police were flagged down near the intersection of E. Boonville Ave. and N. Hill Ave. A woman told police that someone had thrown a rock at her vehicle near the intersection of E. Pettis Ave. and N. Mill Ave. The victim showed an officer a dent in the rear driver's side door. Police conducted a search of the area but was unable to locate the suspect.


Police were dispatched to Walmart at 9:19 p.m. on November 21 to investigate an assault. Police took a report of an attempted robbery of two people at an apartment complex in the 3100 block of W. 10th St. One of the victims said that he ran to Walmart and was assaulted by two suspects in the bathroom. The second victim also told police that multiple suspects tried to rob him at the apartment complex. Both victims were injured during the incident and were treated at Bothwell Regional Health Center.


Deputies with the Pettis County Sheriff's Office arrested Ellen L. Cain on November 21 in the area of Maltsbarger Rd. on charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Cain was placed on a 24-hour hold, pending state charges.


The Pettis County Sheriff's Office is investigating a case of identity theft that occured in the 1200 block of McVey in Sedalia.


The Pettis County Sheriff's Office took a complaint of identity theft around 8:13 a.m. on November 21. The reporting party stated that their personal information was used in a credit card application and wanted to have a record of the incident on file. An investigation is ongoing.


Police say a handgun, marijuana, methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia were all found when a truck was stopped on November 21 near E. 13th St. and S. Ohio Ave. According to Sedalia Police, the handgun had been reported stolen. The driver of the truck, 37-year-old Justin Lee Denny, was arrested on multiple charges and taken to the Pettis County Jail.
