The following Sedalia Police and Pettis County Sheriff's Reports are from the morning of Monday, December 24, 2012. 

A House Fire Is Investigated

Pettis County Deputies discovered a residence on fire, while on the process of serving a civil commitment order in the 100 Block of South Stewart Avenue on Dec. 21 at 5:40 p.m.. Sedalia Police and Fire Department were notified and they extinguished the fire.

Several Thefts Occur In Area

A man in the 200 Block of South Quincy reported to Sedalia Police that $2,000 in items were stolen from his home between 8 a.m. And 4 p.m. on Dec. 21.

On Dec. 21, A woman in the 1000 Block of East 9th reported to Sedalia Police that someone broke in and took several Christmas presents, Sony DVD speakers, Wii Sports and a DVD player.

Sedalia Police went to the 1800 Block of West Broadway as prescription medicine was stolen from a locked cabinet between 8 a.m. on Dec. 20 and noon on Dec. 21.

A man in the 15000 Block of Dove Road in Green Ridge reported to Pettis County Deputies that there was a theft between Dec. 19 and Dec. 21.

A man reported to Sedalia Police on Dec. 19 that someone broke into his car that was parked in the 300 Block of West 16th and took an after market CD player/stereo with remote and license plates from the car.

Sedalia Police responded to the 900 Block of East 15th for a report of a theft. A man reported that several unnamed items were stolen from the car on Dec. 21.

A man in the 200 Block of State Fair Boulevard reported to Sedalia Police that an LG Flip Phone was missing on Dec. 18.

A juvenile boy reported to Sedalia Police that his cell phone was stolen or missing as of Dec. 21.

A 27-year old man reported to Pettis County Deputies that he was bitten by a dog in the 4000 Block of South Kentucky Street on Dec. 23.

Several Arrests Occur Over Weekend

Sedalia Police stopped a car early Saturday morning (Dec. 22). in the area of East Broadway and South Montgomery for not having license plates or a tag. Sedalia Police did a routine check and found Michael Ritcheson to be in possession of meth and drug paraphernalia.

Pettis County Deputies arrested 38-year-old Michael Ollison of Green Ridge and 55-year-old Paul Witten of Sedalia. Ollison and Witten are being held on a 24-hour investigative hold for burglary, possession of burglary tools and stealing, in addition Ollison had an arrest warrant.

Sedalia Police arrested Eril Srader for a failure to appear for driving while revoked, failure to appear for driving while revoked and resisting arrest, bond set at $100,000 cash/surety, and failure to appear for child neglect out of Pettis County, bond set at $35,000 cash/surety.

Sedalia Police arrested Christi Brown for having a Benton County warrant, bond set at $20,000 cash/surety.

Sedalia Police arrested Cody Kirby for a failure to appear charge for not using a seat belt and incorrect vehicle lighting, bond set at $1,010 cash/surety.

Sedalia Police arrested Charlene Hicks on an assault charge, bond set at $533.50.

Sedalia Police arrested Michael Griggs for having a Benton County warrant, bond set at $150.

Sedalia Police arrested John Hernandez for being a fugitive from justice and having a felony warrant out of Wyandotte County, Kansas.

Sedalia Police arrested Dustin Hernandez for failure to appear.

Sedalia Police arrested Cody Collins for driving while suspended
