The following Sedalia Police and Pettis County Sheriff's Reports come from the morning of Sunday, Nov. 18, 2012.

Sedalia Police and Missouri State Highway Patrol Involved in Vehicle Pursuit

Friday night (Nov. 16) Sedalia Police saw a vehicle with no front plate headed north on Ohio Street. Sedalia Police attempted to stop the vehicle in the 100 Block of East Cooper. The car failed to stop and a pursuit ensued. Sedalia Police lost sight of the vehicle unit a Missouri State Highway Patrol unit located the car and it fled again. Stop sticks were deployed and the car continued on its rims. The car eventually came to a stop at Broadway and Massachusetts after it collided with a Sedalia Police Unit and then struck a chain-linked fence.

Sedalia Police Respond to Vehicle Accident

Yesterday (Nov. 18) at 7:46 Sedalia Police went to West Broadway and South Quincy for a reported motor vehicle accident, involving a vehicle striking a tree along the roadway. A vehicle struck a tree and left the scene of the accident. Witnesses saw the direction the vehicle went and Sedalia Police found the vehicle in front of a home in the 2400 Block of West Main Street.  28-year old Anthony Venable was arrested for driving while intoxicated and leaving the scene of an accident.

Several Thefts Occur in Area

A man on Harland Drive reported to Sedalia Police that between 11 a.m. and 2:15 p.m. Nov. 17 he had left his home unlocked and when he returned a Nintendo 3DS, valued at $175; Acer Laptop valued at $200; Game Cube games, valued at $15; and Playstation 2 games, valued at $10 were stolen.

A man in the 1300 Block of East 7th reported to Sedalia Police that between 9 p.m. Nov. 16 and 10 a.m. Nov. 17 someone had taken an eight by ten white aluminum garage door that was placed next to the alley way behind the home.

Pettis County Deputies received a report that there was a burglary in the 29000 Block of Highway 50. Several DVD's were taken between 4 and 5:53 p.m. Nov. 17.

Yesterday (Nov. 17) Sedalia Police went to 300 Block of East Cooper on a report that someone shattered a window on a home being built by State Fair Community College.

Pettis County Deputies Investigate An Assault

A 17-year old girl reported to Pettis County Deputies that she was assaulted on Nov. 17 by a subject known to her.

Sedalia Police Investigate A Dog Bite

Friday (Nov. 16) Sedalia Police went to the 1100 Block of East 11th for a dog bite case. A boy had been outside of his home and was trying to catch his dog that ran from his home. The boy said he was calling his dog, when a neighbor dog ran after him. The boy said the dog ran towards him and he began to run away. The dog pushed him over onto the ground and bit him on the right side of his back. The bite did puncture the skin and drew blood.

Two Arrests Occur In Area

Sedalia Police arrested Stormy Battles for stealing, bond set at $88.50.

Pettis County Deputies stopped 20-year-old Vladislav Soyarkov of Hughesville for a traffic violation. Soyarkov was later arrested for operating a motor vehicle without a valid license.
